Previous Meetings

May 31, 2006: We met at Tekserve. We answered tons of questions about Logic, and music production in general. Steve finished his excellent and in-depth examination of Sculpture. Wow! There is so much potential in there! Attendance was healthy for a summer event, and lucky members received Tekserve T-Shirts and Mac Pro Video training videos.

April 24, 2006: We met in the excellent seminar room at Dale Pro Audio. Steve Horelick has been hard at work on a training video dedicaed entirely to Sculpture. He got into it, but of course there wasn't enough time, so this is To Be Continued. This was extremely informative, and people want MORE! Thanks Steve H., who also generously gave away two of his MacProVideop training DVDs in our raffle...

Many questions regarding QuickTime movie frame rates and sync issues leads me to beleive we should dedicate a meeting to answering these types of questions.

March, 2006: We met in the cool brick space at Tekserve. Our guest was Joe Albano of Rooftop Productions. After a very lengthy session of question and answer by your host Jonathan Perl, Joe was finally able to show off his amazing work with Logic's Environment. He has created an excellent interface for tweaking indiviual drum sounds and samples from multiple EXS instruments simulatneously, making it a snap to adjust all parameters of a complex drum setup easily. The most important part - it sounded great! (And was a much smaller sample library thatn you might expect given the sound.) Thanks Joe!

January 17th, 2006: We met at Dale Pro Audio, in their excellent seminar room. Too bad we didn't have a surround sound demo to give!

Our guest at this meeting was Peter Kirn,  author of the book Real World Digital Audio. Peter Discussed his book and ideas about DAWs. Discussion ended up focusing on the mighty Physical Modeling beast, Sculpture. Steve and Jonathan added their own insights about Sculpture and other Logic instruments.

November, 2005 meeting: Our guest was Nathan Rosenberg. His studio is the The Doghouse NYC, located in Park Slope. Nathan is a recording engineer, jazz and popular pianist, and composer, producer, singer and more. He has also authored articles for a number of popular audio and music magazines. Particulars and bio can be found at: www.doghousenyc.com.

Nathan discussed his approach to creative and inspiring recording and production work. His talk gave us a great look at how to create a space and workflow that is conducive to himself and the artists he works with. Attendance was low due to cold weather and the pre-Thanksgiving date. If you weren't there, you should check out his studio and website. Thanks Nathan!

September '05: You missed Andrew Inkgavet's excellent presentation regarding his approach to film scoring, if you weren't there!

Inaugural Meeting: You missed Bob Hunt, Apple's Product Manager for Logic Pro, out from Cupertino to visit us, if you weren't there!
